ASHLEY DOWN SCHOOLS PSA

Your PSA needs You!

Help to help your child's
school.

What is the PSA?
The PSA is Ash ley Down Schools' Parent Staff Association, and ALL parents and staff of the two schools are members. In 2003 we became a reg. charity.
Aims of the PS A
• To work in partnership with the schools
• To help support the schools by fundraising
• To organise social events

What kind of events have been organised?
Past events have included quiz nights, story evenings, shopping evenings, Christmas & Summer fairs, children's discos, promises auctions, table top sales, cake sales and sponsored cycle days. We have also produced tea towels and recipe books. These events have been extremely successful in raising funds, but just as importantly they have also given parents, staff and children an opportunity to get together and enjoy themselves.

What happens to the money that is raised?
Money raised by the PSA is used by the schools to help buy equipment that is not provided by the LEA funds. For example: the junior garden, the large musical instruments in the infant playground, the infant stage blocks and many varied visiting artists and musical workshops. We have also helped to fund theatre trips for the children.

Who runs the PSA?
You do. All parents and staff are automatically members - there are no forms to fill in to join. The core posts of chair, secretary and treasurer are held by parents just like you! These are held for 1 - 2 years and need to be filled.
Anyone can offer their services either on the committee or as a helper with events. Regular meetings are held to discuss ideas and plans for events. Anyone is welcome to attend.

PSA Meetings and Events
These are advertised on the PSA notice boards, in PSA newsletters (sent home with the children) and in the playground/classroom windows.
Everyone is welcome.
You do not need special skills to help on the committee or to make events work - we are always grateful for extra support to make things happen.
Please join in and help the PSA to help your child's school.

If you would like to join the PSA committee or help with any future event, then please contact one of the committee members. Alternatively speak to your class teacher who will pass on your details to the committee so that one of them can make contact with you.
